I’m Kate Pennell, a private chef with 20 years’ experience creating fabulous occasion food in kitchens all over the world.
I care about the food I produce, as well as the people I cook for. I work with seasonal ingredients that are locally sourced, create bespoke menus, prepare dishes calmly to an exquisite standard, then serve them with a smile.
After graduating with a degree in food science and food nutrition I worked at Le Manoir aux Quatre Saisons. Since then, working as a private chef, my love of cooking and my appetite for adventure have taken me around the world.
From the highlands of Scotland, the arid hills of Southern Spain, chalets and chateaux in the Alps and a remote island off the coast of Maine (with only an inflatable boat to get me to the shops), to the galley of The Royal Yacht Britannia and the kitchens of Kofi Annan and Hugh Grant.
My adventures have lead me to Birkhall near Balmoral, catering a full schedule of engagements as personal chef to HRH The Prince of Wales, now King Charles III.
